Wi-LAN Inc. has sued three TCL Technology Group Corp. units, alleging they infringed its patents for 4G wireless technology by selling smartphones, tablets, and mobile hotspots.
TCT Mobile (US) Inc., Huizhou TCL Mobile Communication Co., and TCL Mobile Communication (HK) Co. manufacture and sell products that can send and receive information over an LTE network, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. Wi-LAN and its units Wi-LAN USA Inc. and Wi-LAN Labs Inc. said those products infringe US Patent No. 8,259,688.
